EZEKIEL 37 VALLEY OF DRY BONES

One of the difficult things we are called to do in following Christ is to speak things into being even when there are no signs that it is coming to pass visually for us to see. I can say that my relationship with God became more powerful when I laid hold the practice of praying His will back to him and being directly involved with working alongside of Him and watching things begin to manifest.

During the past three years the LORD has been using Ezekiel 37:1-14 and the story about the “Valley of dry bones” to grow me in this area. There are too many details to cover in a blog, but a few high points are these. Regardless of what things currently look like we are shown to speak the will of God over our lives and prophesy them into being. We see this in verse 4 how Ezekiel was commanded to prophesy the word/will of God. In verse 7 Ezekiel obeys as commanded.

This is repeated in verse 9 when God tells the prophet again to prophesy and in verse 10 Ezekiel obeys as commanded. Verse 11 contains the explanation of the story that the dry bones are the whole house of Israel (believers) who feel dried up, hopeless and cut off. Many of us can relate. I love verse 12 which says, “Therefor prophesy” as the solution to the problem regardless of how bad it looks. Verse 13 states that you shall know that I am the LORD “WHEN” it comes to pass. Then it finishes in verse 14 by saying another very strong admonition which is “THEN” you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it and performed it. The LORD spoke to me one night while in prayer and said, “When you pray My will back to me along with the scriptures I have given you, you are speaking things into existence just like I did in creation.” WOW
