Jennifer and I have been blessed to return again to resume the work in Kenya that we have been involved with for many years. We have only been in country for a month now and we are settled into a new home and working on receiving our work permits so that we will be able to stay long term and accomplish the work the LORD has given us.
We are shown to pursue the neediest people around us which are the disabled, the orphaned and street children, children with jiggers just to name a few. I come from a background of farming/livestock as well as construction which are quite useful for this work. In years past we have drilled water wells, helped young unwed mothers, orphans and to improve the quality of life for many. I look forward to drilling more water wells as finances allow because there is such a great need for them everywhere. Evangelism is always on the schedule and we have experienced the Holy Spirit move the most when we are out in the villages.
For about the past 10-12 years I have had visions of us having a large school with many children and many of them had disabilities but we were able to care for them and provide a campus which allowed them to move about freely with sidewalks, accessible classrooms and necessary finances providing us the ability to care for all areas of their life. The conditions in many of the African countries cause families to be overwhelmed with trying to care for children under normal circumstances. When there is a special needs individual of any age people can quickly become hopeless and feeling abandoned. This is where we are called by the Lord Jesus Christ to be his hands, feet and mouth piece to make a way where there seems to be no way in caring for these sweet people who are always so full of gratitude when they are helped.
We are in the beginning stages of making this vision become a reality. With your faithful donations to KENNETH NEWKIRK MINISTRIES (knministries.org) we will be able to begin the building of facilities to care for many special needs individuals of all ages. We will also build a training facility to aid the local communities with training of vocational trades which they have need of to help them care for their families as they so desire to do. We have the support of the community as well as a site with one building already built for a great start. Please pray and consider if this is a project you would like to support….and who knows….one day you may even come and experience Kenya for yourself and help us care for these great people.
